BAIC Group makes debut on Fortune’s Most Admired Companies List: Ranking 13th in world, 2nd in China in auto industry

Recently Fortune magazine has released Most Admired Companies List. BAIC Group ranked 13th in the global auto industry and 2nd among Chinese auto groups, behind SAIC Group (11th) only.

Ranking 2nd among Chinese auto groups in its debut on the list shows that BAIC Group has not only achieved brilliant results and an outstanding reputation in ever-changing business environment, but also earned high industry recognition and enhanced its international influence and brand image because of constantly intensifying independent innovation and international cooperation through strategic transformation and industrial upgrading in recent years.

In 2016, BAIC Group’s key business indicators hit new high. It made a good start in the “thirteenth five-year” period with outstanding sales and a speed faster than the other four major auto groups in China. It achieved sales of over 2.8 million units, up 15 percent year on year, 1.3 percent above the industry, increasing its market share to 10.2 percent; its operating revenues topped 400 billion yuan (about 59 million USD), up 17.9 percent year on year, over-fulfilling its annual target.

“Most Admired Companies” List, one of the most credible lists in the world, is based on the opinions and voting results of 3,800 directors, executives, analysts and experts from all walks of life. Enterprises are rated on nine attributes, including quality of management, quality of products or services, innovation, social responsibility, use of corporate assets, global effectiveness, long-term investment value, financial soundness, and ability to attract and retain talents, to ensure objectiveness and fairness.
